Ordering and pricing
How much does pool water delivery cost?
Haulers usually price per tanker load (often 6,000 to 8,000 gallons). As a rough guide, a load often runs somewhere around $250 to $600 depending on the area, so a typical in-ground pool lands roughly between $600 and $1,500. These are estimates; your quote gives the exact delivered price before anything is booked.
Who actually delivers the water?
An independent local water hauler. We do not own trucks. We find and vet a hauler near you, confirm the details, and stay your single point of contact from quote to delivery.
How do I pay?
Payment details come with your confirmed quote. We never ask for card numbers on this website.
Is the quote free?
Yes. Getting a price costs nothing and does not commit you to anything. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
How fast can you deliver?
It depends on local hauler availability and the season. Spring openings and summer weekends book up first, so tell us your preferred date and whether you are flexible.
Size and loads
How many gallons is my pool?
Rectangle: length × width × average depth × 7.5. Round: diameter × diameter × depth × 5.9. Oval: length × width × depth × 6.7. All measurements in feet. Our gallons calculator does it for you.
How much water does a tanker truck hold?
Many water trucks used for pool fills carry roughly 6,000 to 8,000 gallons, though sizes vary by hauler. Your quote states the number of loads.
What if I only need a top-off?
Tell us roughly how many inches the water is down. A top-off may still be one minimum load, so we will tell you honestly if a hose makes more sense.
Delivery day
Does the truck need to get into my backyard?
Usually not. The truck parks on the street or driveway and runs a hose to the pool. Tanker hoses typically reach a few hundred feet; the hauler confirms the reach for your property before booking.
Do I need to be home?
Usually someone should be there to open the gate and confirm where the water goes, at least at the start. Tell us if that is a problem and we will ask the hauler.
How long does it take?
Each load usually unloads in well under an hour. A pool that needs several loads takes longer, especially if the truck has to go back and refill between loads.
Will the truck damage my driveway or lawn?
Water trucks are heavy, so tell us about soft ground, steep or narrow driveways, or weight limits, and we will plan for the truck to stay on the street if needed.
Water quality
Where does the water come from?
Haulers usually fill from a municipal supply such as a hydrant meter or a water station. Ask and we will tell you where your hauler fills up.
Is the water drinkable?
Pool water deliveries are not always potable. If you need drinking-quality water, for example for a household cistern, tell us so we only line up haulers who deliver potable water.
Does delivered water need chemicals?
Yes, like any fresh fill. Start the pump, then test and balance alkalinity, pH, calcium hardness and sanitizer. New plaster has its own start-up routine from your builder.
Is trucked water better than well water for a pool?
Often, yes. Well water can carry iron, manganese or sulfur that stains surfaces or discolors the water once chlorine is added, and a full fill can strain a well.
